The El Capitan is a nice train, fast & comfortable. The food was not too good.  Arrived in Chicago 2 1/2 days later on Sunday June 11th.  Got a train out at 7:45 PM.  Not too good a train NYC & slow (dumpy). Canadian train was somewhat better, but slow.

Will arrive in Montreal at 6 PM - Spend the nite here & sail in the AM.  Stayed at the Sheraton Laurentien Hotel - We had a double rm-twin beds & air conditioned. $12.00 & bath-good dinner at other Martins, Steak was delicious - $2.90 was price of full dinner.

TUESDAY JUNE 13, 1961 – MONTREAL, CANADA
We left the hotel & headed for the pier.  Our new found friend Charlie went along with us. We shared the cab fare, about 75 cents each.  We soon discovered that the luggage we sent ahead had not arrived so, off the boat we went to the Baggage Master (Mulwalsh) who soon put a tracer on the job. The luggage got here less than 1/2 hour before sailing. Close?  Lunch was all mixed up, due to the 12 noon sailing, guess we never got ours until 3 PM.  Chas. is taking a nap, right now sounds great!  Might even join him.  We were pleased to find a couple of telegrams waiting for us. One from Jay & one from Dr. Bill.  This was great, it sort of brings home closer.  Dinner at (8 PM) Later we spent many hrs. in Tavern with a Prof. (McLaine) from Missouri & 2 girls from Montreal, ea. going home for a visit, Angela to Venice & Erica to Switzerland.
